Our Mission Statement

We are called to show Christ’s love to our community, nation, and world. To help us fulfill that purpose, we are committed to living our mission statement: “Follow Jesus, Love Others, Build Community.”

Follow Jesus…

We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. As His followers, we are called to live our lives as disciples and to make disciples. As His disciples, we are committed to lives of service, peace, and love.

Jesus is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, the revelation of God’s love to the world, and Lord over all creation. He came to rescue us from sin, evil, and death and to restore us to our destiny according to God’s plan.

We commit to Jesus as our Lord and Savior, understanding all things through the lens of His life, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension into heaven. One day He will return to make all things new and bring heaven into the real world.  Those who accept His invitation to life will live with Him forever.

Until Jesus returns, we are called to live as His disciples, committed to obeying His commandments and following His way of life. Within the framework of grace, we follow Jesus as our moral model and obey His command of discipleship: ‘Love one another, just as I have loved you. The world will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another’ (John 13:34-35). As followers of Jesus, we are committed to lives of service, peace, and love.

We pledge to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), going into our community, nation, and world to make disciples.

Love Others…

We share the love of God with everyone, touching lives in our community, nation, and world. We are committed to reaching others as Jesus did, meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of all people.

We are committed to reaching others so they know the joy of living with Jesus now and forever. We pledge to be agents of love and grace to others. Nothing is beyond Him and no one is beyond His reach.

We reach out, as Jesus did, by entering into the worlds of those around us and walking beside them.  We affirm the dignity and worth of every person, and strive to make a difference in this world by offering grace, love, forgiveness, and restoration. We walk with patience, hope, and love, sometimes outside our comfort zones.

We reach out, as Jesus did, by meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of all people. We work for the healing of persons, families, relationships, and the world.  Our work for the Kingdom requires us to engage in both evangelism and social action. Toward that end, we follow our evangelistic endeavors with spiritual life development and discipleship education.

We reach out to our community, nation, and world.  We spread the good news of Jesus Christ; care for the sick; provide homes, food, clothing and medicine to the needy; and work for justice throughout the world. As citizens of the Kingdom, we commit to our brothers and sisters in Christ, wherever they are.

Build Community…

We build community through Bible study, fellowship, communion, prayer, service, worship, and small group ministry.

We are there for one another in good times and bad times. As a community of people with diverse talents and gifts, we come together to make a difference for our world. We are dedicated to creating a sense of belonging. As one in Christ Jesus, we support the uniqueness, worth, and preciousness of each individual in the church community. We recognize that we are the body of Christ, whose life we must embody in the world.

Life as Jesus’ disciples means life in community.  Our goal is to demonstrate the same spirit-centered community that the early followers of Jesus demonstrated.

We are committed to living in unity and peace.  We care deeply for one another, in both good times and bad times.  We are a family; anyone who is willing to have a life-changing encounter with Christ is welcome to join our family.

We seek to discern God’s will together, affirming the Old Testament and New Testament as the inspired, authoritative word of God.

We accept and celebrate the diversity of spiritual gifts within our community. We acknowledge that these gifts are given for the benefit of the whole community.  We encourage one another to exercise those gifts, and we support each other in our ministry endeavors.
